Yes, the Japanese celebrate Valentine’s Day. Unlike the states, the Japanese women are expected to give the gifts of chocolate to the men on that day.

To offset this, one month later they have another celebration called White Day. On White Day, the men repay the women that gifted them, with chocolate gifts, often white chocolate to keep in the spirit of White Day.
