Here in Japan there is no problem finding the latest American movies. Yes, in English; they use Japanese sub-titles. Often, you have a choice of original soundtrack or dubbed.

Yep, they also have IMAX

When you purchase a ticket, you choose your seat, its printed on your ticket and that is just where you plop your butt down.  I don’t care for the concept.

We recently went to the to see a movie (Don't Breathe) that happened to have quite a few teenage patrons. They jabbered away prior to the coming attractions; through the coming attractions, and right when the movie started they went silent. No chatter, no whispering, no cell phone calls, not even the glare from a cellphone while someone texted.

Now for the overpriced popcorn, not at all up to American standards. It had way too many kernels and was not at all fluffy. Mediocre at best.
